[Remote] Reinsurance Business Analyst Consultant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. RGP is a global network of experts providing solutions across on-demand talent and consulting. They are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with expertise in actuarial reporting to modernize the reporting environment by transitioning actuarial measures and reports into their Segment Data Warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Review current actuarial reports and calculations (primarily Excel and SQL-based)
• Clarify key calculation logic and underlying data relationships
• Develop detailed functional requirements and acceptance criteria as needed
• Provide instructions and clarification to developers for replicating reports within the Segment Data Warehouse
• Validate that new reports and measures adhere to business requirements and expected outputs
• Investigate discrepancies and assist in troubleshooting by performing detailed data analysis
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and manage the process through final signoff
• Ensure timely communication and resolution of testing issues

Skills

• 7+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on reinsurance or insurance industry, specifically in actuarial or reserving reporting processes
• Strong understanding of actuarial calculations, data structures, and drivers behind reserving and financial reporting
• Ability to translate complex business rules into clear, actionable requirements and acceptance criteria
• Hands-on experience validating data accuracy and reconciling reports
• High Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and familiarity with enterprise data warehouse environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify anomalies and recommend solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
