Job Description
As a Data Engineering & Analytics Intern, you will collaborate closely with machine learning experts, technologists, product managers, and other informatics analysts to address complex business challenges. Your role involves identifying relevant data to collect and, together with technologists, devising methods to extract this information. You will transform raw data into actionable business insights, explore various data visualization and summation techniques to communicate key findings in applied analytics, and ensure adherence to best practices for capturing design notes, deliverables, methodologies, and solution development activities. Thorough documentation will support traceability and troubleshooting. You are also encouraged to draw upon your classroom experiences to offer innovative, out-of-the-box recommendations. The internship is designed for students interested in applied experience in Data Engineering and Data Analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT processes) Work with SQL to extract, clean, and transform large datasets Support Python-based data processing, automation, and reporting tasks Contribute to dashboard development and data visualization efforts Perform data validation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders Identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for data improvements Document workflows, datasets, and technical processes What You Will Gain Real-world experience working with production-level data systems Exposure to modern data engineering and analytics workflows Collaboration with cross-functional technical and business teams Mentorship from experienced data professionals Opportunity to build a portfolio of impactful data projects
Qualifications
Required Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in:Data Engineering Data Science Data Management Computer Science or related field Minimum GPA: 3.0 or higher (required) Foundational knowledge of SQL and Python Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Curiosity-driven mindset with ability to identify and frame problems
Preferred Qualifications
