Position Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, self‑motivated Remote Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry to join our dynamic pharmacy operations team. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager and the designated Supervisor, you will serve a diverse portfolio of clients—including product manufacturers, physicians, patients, and internal stakeholders—by managing prescription intake, data entry, and coordination with dispensing pharmacies. Your contributions will directly impact arenaflex’s operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and overall profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Prescription Management & Data Entry

  • Maintain robust, error‑free systems that enable the timely release of accurate prescription information to a variety of internal and external clients.
  • Perform intake of non‑dispensing pharmacy prescriptions across multiple therapeutic brands, ensuring each entry complies with regulatory standards.
  • Log prescription details into the designated arenaflex pharmacy database, triage each order to the appropriate dispensing pharmacy, and verify completeness before submission.
  • Conduct eligibility checks and test claims for patient prescriptions, collaborating with Reimbursement Specialists to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Distribute prescription data to relevant stakeholders, including Reimbursement Specialists, Clinical Teams, and external partners, while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.

Collaboration & Support

  • Provide day‑to‑day support to Pharmacists, assisting with prescription processing, verification, and documentation as needed.
  • Work closely with fellow Pharmacy Technicians to share best practices, troubleshoot issues, and uphold consistent workflow standards.
  • Assist with inbound call volume, fielding inquiries from clients, patients, and internal teams, and routing calls to the appropriate resources.
  • Promote a positive, professional working relationship with associates, management, and external partners, embodying arenaflex’s core values of respect and teamwork.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Adhere to all program policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements governing prescription processing and data handling.
  • Identify moderate‑scope problems, analyze data trends, and recommend actionable solutions within defined SOPs.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions, quality‑assurance audits, and process‑enhancement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
  • Perform related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on new challenges.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a remote or hub‑service environment.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician license; a national license is preferred. Candidates licensed in Texas must be able to obtain or maintain licensure.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven setting while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy regulations, prescription processing standards, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management software, electronic health record (EHR) platforms, and standard office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; a collaborative team player who can build rapport across functional groups.
  • Organizational and time‑management expertise, enabling effective multitasking and prioritization of competing demands.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to evolving workflows, technology updates, and regulatory changes.

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Experience with specialty pharmacy operations, including handling high‑cost biologics and device‑related therapies.
  • Familiarity with reimbursement processes, prior authorization workflows, and insurance verification tools.
  • Exposure to remote work environments, virtual collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams), and self‑directed productivity techniques.
  • Certification such as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or similar credentials.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data Accuracy: Ability to enter, validate, and audit prescription data with near‑zero error rates.
  • Regulatory Acumen: Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, including controlled substance handling where applicable.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Proactive approach to addressing client and patient inquiries, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Problem‑Solving: Analytical mindset to assess moderate‑complexity issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Technology Savvy: Comfort navigating multiple software systems simultaneously, troubleshooting technical glitches, and learning new applications quickly.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with pharmacists, reimbursement specialists, and cross‑functional teams across different time zones.
  • Self‑Management: Discipline to manage workload independently, meet deadlines, and maintain productivity without direct supervision.
