ESPN NY Marketing Consultant (Account Executive) (New York, NY... ESPN New York needs an experienced and top performing Marketing Consultant to join our New York sales team. New York sports fans are passionate, fiercely loyal and dedicated to their teams, and ESPN New York delivers that energy right back to the fans and partners that support the station. ESPN New York is the official home of the NY Knicks, NY Rangers, and NY Islanders as well as the Michel Kay Show, Mike Greenberg, DiPietro and Rothenberg, and Bart and Hahn Shows. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Marketing Consultant to help lead us into the future. The Role of a Marketing Consultant The primary role of the Marketing Consultant is to develop long-term relationships with area businesses by creating and selling successful, customized marketing solutions to local companies utilizing the ESPN New York brand. Marketing Consultants are responsible for account development, including prospecting new business and growing existing accounts. This will require a thorough knowledge of the market and ESPN New York’s audio, digital, and event assets. Moreover, a Marketing Consultant will be expected to have a strong knowledge of the New York market in terms of local advertisers knowledge and existing relationships. Daily Tasks of a Marketing Consultant • Identify, uncover, and develop account opportunities, including for Knicks and Rangers radio • Develop relationships with area businesses and decision makers • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the complete portfolio of ESPN New York’s assets and create customized marketing solutions • Continually educate yourself on media and new trends in the industry • Network with local businesses to expand your sphere of influence in the market • Ability to uncover marketing objectives and create solutions to solve those objectives • Ability to sell at all levels including C-Level positions • Other assigned tasks • Be a Good Karma Brands ambassador by adhering to the GKB core values: Listen, Be Honest, Work Hard, Over Deliver, Teamwork, and Follow Through Preferred knowledge, skills and qualifications • Minimum of 3+ Years’ Sales Experience. Preferable in New York sports media sales • Experience selling play by play sports • Existing relationships with advertisers who target sports content preferred • Strong network and relationships within the New York Community • Goal oriented and creative self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit • Passion to be a part of a team and the ability to work independently • Strong organizational and time management skills • Excellent written and verbal skills • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment - a multi-tasker • Willingness to accept and provide feedback • Familiarity in CRM tool such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office; Word, PowerPoint, Excel • With this career, you are required to hold a valid driver’s license, and meeting partners at their locations/place of business is an essential part of this position Hours/Salary/Benefits Pay Transparency: The anticipated compensation for New York-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $125,000+. The compensation rate is to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity. This role is eligible for full benefits to include health, dental, vision, Life Insurance, STD, LTD, 401(k) Plan, Dependent Care, paid parental leave, and more with opportunities for salary growth increase with skills and responsibilities and meeting targeted goals. The position will be required to work some evenings and weekends for events and game.
