Job title: Online Success Coach Company: Concorde Career Colleges Job description: SUMMARY • This position is a Full-Time opportunity that will be on site at our Portland, OR campus. This is not a remote position. The Online Success Coach helps students develop skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to success in college and within a distance learning platform. These skills include, but are not limited to, academic and career goal setting, learning strategies, time management and organization, self-regulation and self-efficacy. This position requires a high degree of self-direction as there may be requirements to work unsupervised to provide support nights and weekends. All Concorde associates are required to display professionalism and uphold Concorde’s Mission and the core values of respect for the individual, integrity, teamwork, customer service, and achievement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Conduct First Day Workshops as necessary for new students. • Closely monitor new students for appropriate activity in online and blended courses • Assist student in developing educational plans and strategies to improve student success. • Monitor individual student progress by utilizing tracking and reporting systems • Actively prepare for and participate in campus meetings addressing student success • Provide students with troubleshooting support for Canvas, third-party tools, and/or other academic challenges • Assist instructors with troubleshooting and training for both Canvas and third-party teaching tools • Provide training and coaching to instructors to develop efficient and engaging online teaching methods, tools, and strategies • Assist the Campus Support Center and Academic Dean with the course review process to evaluate instructor activity and effectiveness • Collaborate closely with Student Affairs and other departments to identify and recommend appropriate services designed to address student needs • Compile information on program services, activities, and students. Maintain accurate, organized, completed, and detailed records and develop and maintain reports as required or assigned • Maintain open communication between Dean, Program Directors, and Student Affairs to identify high-risk students • Continuously monitor academically at-risk students and recorded activities, progress and communications within the student management system • Maintain an encouraging, supportive and positive attitude • Proctor examinations as needed • Track and document all work and support activities to permit analysis of areas for improvement • Additional duties as assigned • Minimum of an associate degree, bachelor’s degree preferred, and experience in a related field • Teaching experience and experience with online learning/learning systems preferred • Experience working with adult learners, first generation college students, and students from diverse backgrounds Expected salary: Location: Portland, OR Apply for the job now!
