Program Tech - Temporary Position

Position Summary This is a temporary position that serves as the first point of contact for customers at Child Care Services. The role involves greeting customers, assessing their needs, and directing them to the appropriate department. Responsibilities include data entry, record maintenance, and providing general office support. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction:
  • Answer phones and greet customers.
  • Determine customer needs and refer them to the correct department.
  • Provide program information to customers.
  • Data Entry and Record Maintenance:
  • Use computer systems to update and maintain participant records.
  • Assist in completing documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Office Support:
  • Handle office equipment (fax, copier, phone system) and manage supply inventory.
  • Prepare and type memos, reports, and other materials.
  • Maintain organized participant files and filing systems.
  • Miscellaneous:
  • Safeguard agency property and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with TWC programs and local data systems (e.g., TWIST).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to type 45 WPM, manage files, and interpret written instructions.

Education and Experience

  • Preferred: Associate degree.
  • Required: High school diploma or GED and three years of customer service experience.

Special Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance as per Texas law.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physically: Involves occasional lifting and prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Mentally: Requires constant communication and multitasking in a high-paced environment.
