THE JOB: As a Business Data Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping MGM Resorts’ data strategy by ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and governance. You will work at the intersection of business and technology—developing scalable data solutions, optimizing revenue strategies, and empowering teams with actionable insights. Your expertise will drive data-driven decision-making, enhancing our ability to deliver world-class guest experiences. THE DAY-TO-DAY: • Design, build, and maintain efficient data pipelines and models that support analytics and business applications. • Collaborate with analytics, IT, and revenue management teams to align data strategies with business objectives. • Support pricing strategies, forecasting models, and revenue management initiatives through data-driven insights. • Develop and enforce standards to ensure data security, accuracy, and compliance. • Create and optimize semantic layers for revenue management tools and analytics platforms. • Standardize and normalize data across systems while resolving discrepancies. • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for business leaders. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: • 5+ years in data engineering, governance, analytics, or a related role. • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Experience with hospitality and revenue management systems (Opera, LMS, ACRC, Passkey preferred). • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to transform raw data into meaningful insights. • Ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively. • A track record of managing data initiatives that drive business performance.
