We’re Hiring: Full-Time Overnight Operator (North Carolina Only) Location: Work from Home – Must Reside in NC Hours: Third Shift Only | Full-Time | 100% Remote Company: The Message Center About Us: Based in North Carolina, The Message Center is a 24/7 remote answering service trusted by medical offices, service providers, and professionals nationwide. We specialize in after-hours support and urgent message handling — with every call treated as an extension of our clients' businesses. Position Overview: We’re currently looking for focused and dependable individuals to join our third shift team. This is a 100% remote position, and it requires someone who is confident working independently during overnight hours. Our third shift operators play a critical role — they are often the only point of contact available for patients, providers, and businesses after hours. You will be working without direct supervision, so it’s essential that you’re self-motivated, attentive, and take pride in doing things right the first time. If you’re someone who can stay sharp overnight, follow instructions carefully, and remain calm and professional during stressful calls, we’d love to hear from you. What You’ll Do:

  • Answer incoming calls professionally and follow client-specific instructions
  • Relay urgent messages to on-call staff using proper protocols
  • Accurately document and dispatch messages in real time
  • Stay composed and helpful — even during emotional or high-pressure calls
  • Navigate multiple systems while managing live calls
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Requirements:

  • Must live in North Carolina
  • Must be available for full-time third shift hours (typically between 10 PM and 8 AM)
  • Must be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your role
  • Strong communication skills — both spoken and written
  • Fast, accurate typing and multitasking ability
  • Quiet home workspace with a reliable, high-speed wired internet connection (Wi-Fi alone is not sufficient)
  • Prior call center or healthcare experience is a plus
  • Professionalism and emotional maturity are a must
