About the position Optum FL, formerly known as Refresh, is seeking a Licensed Behavioral Clinician Per Diem to join our dedicated team in Jacksonville Beach, FL. As a Licensed Social Worker, your responsibilities will include treating a diverse range of mental health conditions, providing behavioral and mental health treatments, and engaging in both individual and group therapy sessions, medication management, and intensive outpatient programs. Your role will also involve maintaining accurate electronic medical records and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and forming strong provider-patient alliances. You will conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations, provide ongoing medication management, and participate in the training of graduate students. Additionally, you will screen and assess patients for mental health and substance abuse disorders, utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. You will systematically track treatment responses and monitor patients for any changes in clinical symptoms or treatment side effects. This position may also involve community presentations and lectures, should you choose to represent the practice in such capacities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (Athena) and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Form excellent provider-patient alliances and coordinate care with external providers.

  • Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management.

  • Participate in enriching the training experience of our graduate students.

,

  • Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders.

,

  • Provide treatment for a variety of mental health conditions using treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based methods.

  • Systematically track treatment response and monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications.

,

  • Provide CBT-oriented counseling and psychotherapy as part of appointments, if desired.

,

  • May represent the practice in community presentations and lectures, if desired.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related counseling field.

,

  • Clear, active and unrestricted license (Independent license/unrestricted Full LCSW, LISW) in the state of practice.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of professional social work / clinical experience post Master's degree.

  • Experience providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals and families.

,

  • Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EMRs).

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness.
