Job Description:

Join our team of innovative engineers at Workwarp as a Network Development Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying, and scaling Amazon's next-generation IP networks. As a key member of our Network Fabric Engineering team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions that drive the stability and sustainability of our global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, deploy, and scale Amazon networks across multiple global data centers
  • Perform high-quality network and systems operations, deployments, scaling, and sustaining engineering
  • Lead network projects in areas such as network sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, technology refresh, and optimization
  • Provide critical network support to diagnose, mitigate, and resolve large-scale networking events
  • Collaborate with automation teams to define tools that enable high-volume scaling
  • Partner with network, systems, and software engineering teams to ensure smooth roll-out of new designs and products

A Day in the Life:

As a Network Development Engineer, you will work in a 24x7 team on-call rotation, managing customer-impacting events, and operating efficiently under pressure. You will also travel to data center and network sites as needed, and collaborate with global teams to drive innovation and excellence.

About the Team:

Our Network Fabric Engineering team owns data center network services that provide unconstrained connectivity to our customers. We are a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers who work together to deliver the highest standards for safety, security, and customer experience.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a network-focused hands-on technical role
  • 4+ years of experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP networks
  • 4+ years of experience in a technical on-call capacity, responding to customer-impacting events
  • 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture
  • Experience with router, server load balancer, and firewall vendor platforms (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Arista, Brocade, Extreme, Citrix, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
  • In-depth knowledge of networking and systems technologies
  • Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures
