[Remote] Health Data Interoperability Engineer

They are seeking a skilled Health Data Interoperability Engineer to build a next-generation health data interoperability platform on Databricks for a healthcare client.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement FHIR mapping and transformation pipelines on Databricks
- Build connectivity into health information exchanges (HIEs)
- Develop solution architecture for scalable health data interoperability
- Work within a medallion lakehouse architecture (bronze/silver/gold)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and PHI/PII requirements
Skills
- Hands-on experience with FHIR R4 or STU3 — mapping, transformation, and validation
- HIE integration experience — connecting to and extracting data from HIE networks
- Databricks proficiency — Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and/or Databricks Workflows
- Familiarity with healthcare integration platforms (Redox, Mirth Connect, Azure FHIR API, or similar)
- Understanding of HL7 and clinical data models (OMOP, USCDI)
- Experience in AWS-based environments
- Design and implement FHIR mapping and transformation pipelines on Databricks
- Build connectivity into health information exchanges (HIEs)
- Develop solution architecture for scalable health data interoperability
- Work within a medallion lakehouse architecture (bronze/silver/gold)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and PHI/PII requirements
- Federal health or CMS-adjacent program experience
- FedRAMP Moderate/High compliance background
- Predictive analytics or ML on clinical datasets
