What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Information Specialist II at arenaflex, you will be a critical member of our data engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing our enterprise data ecosystem. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Architecting High-Quality Content: Plan, develop, and refine Splunk content with a relentless focus on scalability, reliability, and peak performance across all deployments.
  • Resolving Complex Splunk Issues: Tackle sophisticated Splunk challenges using your deep expertise in advanced searching techniques, dashboard creation, and data optimization strategies.
  • External System Integrations: Design and implement seamless integrations with third-party applications and external systems to extend the power of our data platform.
  • Community Education and Enablement: Champion a culture of data literacy by educating our internal user community on Splunk search best practices, alerting methodologies, and dashboard design principles.
  • Daily Operational Support: Provide hands-on operational and community support, ensuring that data users across arenaflex have the resources they need to succeed.
  • Data Interpretation and Modeling: Perform advanced data interpretation, classification, and optimization to ensure our datasets are accurate, efficient, and business-ready.
  • Knowledge Object Management: Create and maintain a comprehensive library of data articles, including field extractions, event types, tags, lookups, workflow actions, aliases, and macros.
  • Performance Acceleration: Configure summary-based reports and data model acceleration to ensure that our dashboards and queries deliver results at lightning speed.

What You'll Need: Essential Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should bring a robust combination of technical expertise, hands-on experience, and a passion for data-driven problem solving. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Splunk Development Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience developing advanced Splunk dashboards, complex searches, and enterprise-grade data solutions within Splunk environments.
  • Scripting Proficiency: Demonstrated scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, or comparable programming languages, with the ability to automate workflows and build custom integrations.
  • Splunk Architecture Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Splunk's Basic XML framework, application architecture, and core infrastructure components.
  • Regular Expressions Mastery: Strong command of regular expressions for parsing, extracting, and manipulating complex data patterns.
  • Data Insight Generation: Proven ability to drive actionable insights using data analysis and Splunk's powerful suite of products.
  • Dashboard Studio Expertise: Hands-on experience creating visually compelling and functionally rich dashboards in Splunk Dashboard Studio.
