[Remote] Design Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer for a Contract position with a client located in Remote. The role involves designing and developing chassis components, handling multiple projects, and collaborating with suppliers and engineers to resolve technical problems.
Responsibilities
- Requires a BS or MS in engineering
- Additionally, must be proficient in technical writing and possess computer skills for scientific and technical applications
- Must be able to proficiently handle multiple projects and develop analytical procedures
- Work with suppliers to ensure parts/services are requested appropriately, evaluate technical proposals, and write technical reports
- Make technical decisions with moderate supervision
- Ability to report research and test results in various technical formats
- Able to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals
- Must be able to design and develop Chassis components (Subframe, Engine Mounts, Suspension/Steering components, etc)
- Prior design experience with complex aluminum die casting and stamped/welded structures is preferred
- Must be able to work with other design and test engineers and suppliers to analyze and resolve technical problems
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and work with a team to meet development schedules
- Requires Catia V6 proficiency (Solids Modeling must; Surfacing modeling want)
- Design intent and robust modeling (models can withstand major revision)
- Ability to create and interpret 2D Drawings
- GD&T awareness
- Prefer previous Chassis design experience
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturability
- Ability to pick up new standards and methodologies
